It began, like all the best stories do, on an ordinary afternoon — with a cup of tea, a quiet room, and a box of old photographs.
One unhurried afternoon, my mother began to tell a story — the kind we had heard a hundred times, yet never quite like this. Midway through, she rose, reached beneath the bed, and pulled out an old suitcase none of us had opened in years. Inside were faded photographs, a brittle wedding card, a child’s crayon drawing, a strip of cinema tickets. Each little scrap held an entire world — and each one was quietly disappearing, corners curling, colours slipping away. We sat on the floor for hours, laughing and tearing up, and somewhere in that pile of memories a thought took hold: a life this beautiful deserves so much more than a cardboard box.

We set out to build the keepsake we wished we’d had that afternoon — so that no story, and no one, is ever quietly forgotten.
